About Daniel Schmidt

Thank you for your interest and welcome to Tenerife Yoga

My name is Daniel and I am a TTC trained yoga instructor with further specialisation as a teacher for the over 50s and for people with life threatening illnesses.

I am also a stress management, meditation and autogenic (self hypnosis) trainer.

I’m a passionate advocate of yoga and stress management techniques – they work – and I hope I can involve you in my mission to get people actively engaged in their own personal health management.

Better emotional and physical health isn’t just an abstract desire – a wish for the future, it’s something that can be attained and should be pursued.

My qualifications and gentle approach ensure you can take part in caring for your health and wellbeing no matter what your current level of fitness or mobility is.

I’ll help you address your health concerns whilst helping to generally strengthen your immune system, mind and body so you can be the best version of you, whatever your age and circumstance.

Here’s my personal story:

My background is in finance. I have a degree in economics and worked as a commercial finance manager for several major multinationals. I was based in Munich but the business took me around the world working on multi-million £/€ contracts.

Working long hours to strict deadlines were just part of the job and it was simply accepted by myself and my colleagues that so too was the accompanying stress and, sadly, the inevitable effects of that stress on our bodies, our mental wellbeing and on our general quality of life and relationships.

As a means of managing this stress I took up yoga and then meditation.

The effects astounded me and changed my expectations of my health and life completely. That was 10 years ago and I have since retrained to share the incredible benefits and to encourage people to expect and pursue better health both mentally and physically

A growing body of clinical research is now backing up what the yogis have known for thousands of years. I’ve provided links to medical papers on this website so please see for yourself.

Whether it’s my passion and deep desire to create a culture of being more active and engaged in our own health and wellbeing, or simply the logical step in the light of its scientifically proven benefits that spur you on to try yoga – I don’t care.
